Trackers compared
X (Twitter) unfollow trackers compared: what each costs and does
We checked ten Twitter unfollow trackers on 4 October 2026, most of them names that older articles recommend. Two have closed, three no longer list the feature and one runs on Fedica. Four still say they show who unfollowed you on X, and this page puts them next to ours.

The short answer
If you want to be told without opening anything, we DM you on X, Fedica and Circleboom email you, and SocialDog sends daily and weekly reports (its help pages don't say what's in them). Billed monthly, our Kong plan ($7.99/mo, for accounts under 5,000 followers) is the cheapest paid plan among the five. SocialDog's Personal is $14/mo, Fedica's Grow $29/mo and Circleboom's Pro $35.99/mo, and all three cover bigger accounts. Unfollr's extension is free, and so are SocialDog's Free plan and ours under 2,000 followers.
Which unfollow trackers still work on X (Twitter) in 2026?
Circleboom, Fedica, SocialDog and Unfollr say on their own sites that they show who unfollowed you on X. So does UnfollowMonkey, which is ours. Who Unfollowed Me, a name many articles still recommend, sends its sign-ups to Fedica.
We read each tool's pricing, feature and help pages on 4 October 2026, without signing up, and what we say about the other tools below comes from those pages. We make one of the five, so the pages those facts come from are listed under Sources for you to check.
| How you find out | How often it checks | What you connect | |
|---|---|---|---|
| UnfollowMonkey | A DM on X, and a dashboard | Once a month on Free, every day on Kong | Sign-in on X |
| Circleboom | A dashboard list, and email alerts | No interval given; its alert page says it monitors continuously | A Circleboom account, then sign-in on X |
| Fedica | A dashboard list, and a daily, weekly or monthly email | Every day | A Fedica account, then sign-in on X |
| SocialDog | A dashboard list, and daily and weekly reports (contents not described) | Once every 24 hours, and when you open the Followers screen or press refresh | A SocialDog account, then sign-in on X |
| Unfollr | A list in the extension | When you run a scan, going by its steps | A browser extension, in your X tab |
SocialDog's help page adds that the daily fetch only runs if you've logged in to SocialDog within the last 14 days. Our Ultra plan ($16.99/mo, for accounts under 4,000 followers) compares the full list every 6 hours, and reads your follower count about every 5 minutes in between to run a check as soon as it drops.
Fedica says whether an account unfollowed, deactivated or was suspended. We label each lost follower as unfollowed, suspended, or deleted or deactivated. SocialDog's help page says suspended accounts are left out of its "New Unfollows" list. Circleboom's and Unfollr's pages don't say what they do with them. It matters more than it sounds: in our data, more than half of lost followers hadn't unfollowed.
What does each unfollow tracker cost?
Prices are per month, as each pricing page printed them on 4 October 2026 to a visitor who wasn't signed in. Fedica's page says its prices are in US dollars. Circleboom's and SocialDog's print a $ sign, which we take to mean the same. The paid column is the cheapest plan that includes the list of who unfollowed you.
| Free | Cheapest paid plan, billed monthly | Same plan, billed yearly | Account size | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UnfollowMonkey | Yes, under 2,000 followers, if you follow @unfollowmonkey | Kong, $7.99/mo | Monthly billing only | Under 5,000 followers |
| SocialDog | Yes | Personal, $14/mo | $9/mo | No cap stated; some features may not work above 30,000 followers |
| Fedica | Yes, without unfollower tracking | Grow, $29/mo | $19/mo | Up to 100,000 followers |
| Circleboom | Yes, unclear for unfollowers | Pro, $35.99/mo | $23.99/mo | Up to 25,000 followers |
| Unfollr | Yes, the whole X extension | None | None | No limit, its FAQ says |
SocialDog's Personal plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Circleboom printed each of its prices beside a higher one struck through, so they may be promotional prices. Our prices in other currencies are on our home page.
Under 5,000 followers, Kong is the cheapest paid plan in the table. Above that our plan is Kong Max, $22.99/mo for accounts under 40,000 followers, and there we lose on price: SocialDog's Personal plan costs less, and so does Fedica's Grow if you pay for a year at once. We don't cover accounts of 40,000 followers or more.
The other three paid tools also sell more than a tracker. SocialDog, Fedica and Circleboom schedule posts and report analytics. SocialDog and Fedica manage other networks too, and Circleboom's planner cross-posts to them. We only track followers on X.
Two details on Circleboom's pricing page. A footnote says its "Who Unfollowed Me" list works only for accounts up to 25,000 followers. And the page lists an "Unfollower Alert" add-on at $1.99/mo while also ticking alerts in the Pro plan.
Which unfollow tracker sends you an alert?
Ours is the only one of the five whose pages mention a message on X itself. When a check finds someone gone, @unfollowmonkey sends you a DM with the account's name, what happened to it and about how long it had followed you. X only lets us DM you if you follow us.
@your_ex unfollowed you 🙈 💔
They followed you for about 3 years.
@moon_signals_88 got suspended 😱
Fedica emails you a list of who unfollowed and who's new, every day, week or month, as you choose. Circleboom emails "Unfollower Alerts" once you switch them on. SocialDog can send a daily and a weekly report by email, browser notification or Slack, and its help pages don't say whether those reports name who unfollowed. Unfollr's pages mention no alert: by its own steps, you open your followers tab on X and click "Scan now". Its feature list also speaks of automatic scans.
How soon you hear depends on how often the tool looks. Fedica looks once a day, and so does our Kong plan. Our Free plan looks once a month. SocialDog fetches once a day, and again when you open its Followers screen. Circleboom's alert page offers an immediate email alert and says it monitors your followers continuously, without giving an interval. Unfollr compares when you run a scan.
What do you connect, and can the tool unfollow for you?
Four of the five use X's own sign-in: you approve the app on X, and you can revoke it there. Circleboom, Fedica and SocialDog first have you create an account on their site, with an email address and a password (SocialDog also accepts a Google or Apple login). With us, signing in on X's own page is the whole sign-up, and the Free plan then asks you to follow @unfollowmonkey.
Unfollr is the exception. It's an extension that reads the followers list from the X tab you're logged in to. Its site says there's no login and no app authorisation, and that your lists stay in your browser. Its FAQ names Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc and Vivaldi, and says Firefox and Safari aren't supported yet. The X extension is a beta: Unfollr's home page asks for your email address and sends you the link.
An extension works inside the X tab you're logged in to, so it doesn't go through X's permission screen and isn't in X's list of connected apps. You remove it from your browser. We didn't check which permissions Unfollr's extension asks for.
Three of the tools can also unfollow from inside. Circleboom's help centre says it provides bulk follow and unfollow. SocialDog has an Unfollow button in its lists, capped at 100 a day on its Free plan and 1,000 on Personal. Fedica has a one-click unfollow. Unfollr's pages offer none, and neither do we: our lists link each account to its profile on X.
Whichever you pick, what to check before you connect a tracker applies to all of them, ours included.
Trackers that old lists still recommend
Many of the articles that come up for "best Twitter unfollow tracker" name tools that have closed, moved, or no longer list unfollower tracking on their sites. Here's what those sites showed on 4 October 2026.
- Who Unfollowed Me (who.unfollowed.me) says its tracking runs on Fedica, and its sign-up buttons lead there.
- Statusbrew, which started as Unfollowers (unfollowers.me), is a social media suite. Its cheapest plan is $89/mo billed monthly, or $69/mo billed yearly. Its help centre says that for X it reports only the net change in followers, not how many unfollowed.
- FollowerAudit presents itself as a fake-follower check. Its old tracker pages redirect to its home page.
- SuperX's home and pricing pages don't list unfollower tracking. Its plans start at $49/mo.
- Tweepi's site didn't load. An archived copy of its app page, from February 2026, carries a closing notice from April 2023 that blames the price of X's API.
- Unfollower Stats' site didn't answer. The last archived copy of its home page, from June 2026, said the service had stopped because of the changes to X's API.
If you'd rather not sign up to anything, two downloads of your X archive give you the same answer by hand.
Which one should you pick?
It depends on what you want from it.
- A message when someone leaves, and nothing else to learn: that's us. We've been tracking unfollowers since 2013, and it's all UnfollowMonkey does.
- A scheduler and analytics with the unfollower list on the side: SocialDog is the cheapest of the three suites, and its help page lists the Free plan among those that have the list.
- An account of 40,000 followers or more: Fedica's Grow plan goes up to 100,000. SocialDog states no cap, but says some features may not work above 30,000 followers. Circleboom's unfollower list stops at 25,000, and we stop under 40,000.
- No app authorised on your X account: Unfollr's extension if you use one of those browsers, or the by-hand method.
If you run one of these tools and something here is out of date, write to support@unfollow-monkey.com and we'll correct it.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free unfollow tracker for Twitter?
At least three of the five have a free way in. Unfollr's extension is free, SocialDog's help page lists its Free plan among those with the unfollow list, and our Free plan covers accounts under 2,000 followers with one check a month. Fedica's free plan doesn't include unfollower tracking. Circleboom has a free tier, but its pages don't make clear whether it shows your real unfollowers.
Can any of these trackers show who unfollowed me before I signed up?
None says it can. Circleboom's and Fedica's pages say tracking starts when you connect, and ours does too. A tracker compares your followers list on two dates, so it needs a first copy.
Why did so many Twitter unfollow trackers shut down?
Both closed trackers we found blamed X's API. Tweepi's closing notice, in April 2023, said X's new price of about one cent per tweet read made the business unworkable. Unfollower Stats said the new API plans didn't fit how it worked.
Are these prices still right?
They were on 4 October 2026. Each tool's pricing page is linked under Sources, and ours are on our home page.
