Block list
How to see who you blocked on X (Twitter): your block list
X (Twitter) keeps a list of every account you've blocked, under Settings and privacy. You can unblock from there, one account at a time, and your X archive lists them too, by numeric ID. What you can't do any more is export it as a list to share, or import someone else's: Twitter stopped that in 2019.

The short answer
On x.com, open Settings and privacy, then Privacy and safety, then "Mute and block", then "Blocked accounts", or go straight to x.com/settings/blocked/all. Each account has a "Blocked" button that unblocks it after you confirm. Your downloadable X archive lists them too, but only as numeric IDs, with no names or dates. X documents no limit on how many accounts you can block.
Where to find the accounts you blocked
On x.com:
- 1
Open Settings and privacy
Click More in the menu, then Settings and privacy.
- 2
Open Privacy and safety
Among the settings, click Privacy and safety.
- 3
Open "Mute and block"
It's under "Your X activity". X's help skips this step, but x.com has it.
- 4
Open "Blocked accounts"
The address x.com/settings/blocked/all takes you straight there.
In X's iOS and Android apps, X's help says to open Settings and privacy from the top menu, then Privacy and safety. Then: "Under Safety, tap Blocked accounts."
Each row shows the account's picture, name and @username, can show its bio, and has no date: neither the list nor your X archive says when you blocked anyone.
How to unblock someone
Click the "Blocked" button next to the account; when you point at it, it reads "Unblock". X asks you to confirm:
Unblocking doesn't bring back the follows the block ended. X's page on blocking says: "If you decide to unblock that account, you will have to follow that account again." They have to follow you again too, and X's help describes no notification for an unblock: what X tells someone when you block, mute or unblock them.
While they're blocked, they can still see your posts if your account is public. X's help says they "cannot engage (like, reply, repost, etc.)" with them. If your posts are protected, they can't see them at all.
The newer version of X's web app still warns, when you block someone, that they won't be able to "view your posts". That's the wording X used before November 2024. X's help, and the same app's unblock confirmation, describe the rule as it is now.
Can you export your block list?
Not as a file you can share or import. What's left is the archive of your X data. X's page on the block list says "you can still view and export a list of the accounts you have blocked through Your X Data". To get the archive, X's help says to open Settings and privacy, then Your account, then "Download an archive of your data", confirm your password, and select "Request archive".
Don't expect names. In the archive you download, the list is a file called block.js. In one archive generated in June 2026, it held 1,942 accounts, each a numeric ID and a link to the profile, with no username and no date of the block. Its README describes the file as the "Unique identifiers of accounts currently blocked by the account". Followers come the same way: what your X archive gives you.
Twitter did let you share block lists, for four years:
| Date | What changed |
|---|---|
| 2 December 2014 | Twitter announces a blocked accounts page to its settings, which "shows you the accounts you’ve blocked". |
| 10 June 2015 | Twitter makes it "possible to share block lists on twitter.com": export yours, import someone else's. By July 2015, its help said an export of more than 5,000 accounts was split into several files, each listing a user ID per account. |
| 15 July 2019 | Twitter's help page: "Exporting and importing your block list is not currently available." |
| 1 June 2020 | The page says the feature "is no longer available", and points to your Twitter data instead. |
Shared lists lived on outside Twitter for a while. Block Together, a free tool one volunteer built in 2014, let people subscribe to each other's block lists. Its developer began shutting it down in June 2020, and noted that Twitter's own import and export had "remained relatively unknown, and as far as I could tell, relatively unused". Block Party, an anti-harassment app with block lists of its own, paused its Twitter product on 31 May 2023, blaming "Twitter API pricing". The accounts blocked through its lists, it told users, "will continue to be muted and blocked": you unblock them in X, like any other.
X's help still describes "All" and "Imported" tabs at the top of the list, from when you could import one. The newer version of X's web app has neither.
Is there a limit to how many accounts you can block?
X documents none. Its page on X's limits covers posts, direct messages and follows, and says nothing about blocks. The 5,000 accounts in Twitter's 2015 help capped an export file, not your list.
Apps can read your list through X's API, up to 1,000 accounts per request and 15 requests every 15 minutes. Blocking and unblocking through the API is limited to X's Enterprise plan, and X's API documents no way to see who blocked you.
What UnfollowMonkey shows
We never read your block list, or anyone's. A block that ends a follow reaches us the way it reaches any tracker: the follower is gone. Our app can label a follower "Blocked you" when X's data says so, but up to October 2026 we have never recorded one: a follower who blocks you, or whom you block, shows up as having unfollowed you. X shows no one a list of who blocked them: how to know if someone blocked you.
